For Christmas 2024, Leeds Castle in Kent promised to enchant visitors with a magical experience like no other. Running from November 23 to January 5 2025, the Leeds Castle Christmas 2024 event, themed around The Nutcracker, offered an immersive journey into the timeless tale where toys spring to life and festive magic fills the air.
At Because Creative, we had the privilege of playing a key role in the production and installation of bespoke props for this fun family event. From conceptualising designs to bringing them to life in our Whitstable workshop, the Leeds Castle Christmas 2024 experience was a testament to our commitment to delivering memorable, high-quality installations.
The Magic of Leeds Castle at Christmas
Leeds Castle transformed its rooms into scenes from The Nutcracker. For the experience we produced and installed the following items:
The Grand Dolls’ House: A striking, oversized piece crafted with intricate detail to evoke the story’s charm.
Toy Block Arch: A playful, larger-than-life installation perfect for photo opportunities and showcasing the Leeds Castle logo in a playful way.
Slot-Together Christmas Trees: A forest of custom-made, sustainable decorations bringing whimsy and festivity to the castle.
Functioning Train Track: A highlight for families, complete with a touch of nostalgia.
Hand-Painted Stage: A showcase piece where visitors could watch live performances.
Our collaboration with House of Bop ensured every detail was meticulously planned and executed - from the grand stage built for live performances to the hand-painted stars that adorned the set.
How We Made Leeds Castle Christmas 2024 Possible
The process of producing and installing props for Leeds Castle ‘A Nutcracker Christmas at the Castle’ experience was carefully planned and executed. At Because Creative, we pride ourselves on handling every aspect in-house, ensuring precision and quality at every step.
Our Process:
Production: Using state-of-the-art machinery, we created unique pieces like the train track and toy block arch in our Whitstable workshop. We crafted each item with attention to sustainability, using materials that align with our environmentally conscious ethos.
Finishing Touches: A talented local signwriter added hand-painted stars and details, giving each prop a bespoke, polished finish.

Leeds Castle Christmas 2024 isn’t our first collaboration with the castle. In 2023, we designed, built, and installed a life-size wardrobe inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia, allowing guests to step through the iconic doors into a winter wonderland. This year, we took on a different challenge with The Nutcracker, creating large-scale props and immersive elements that bring the classic tale to life.
