Dreamland Margate ‘The Margate Seagull Project’ Art Installation

The Margate Seagull Project was a community art installation created in collaboration with Hannah Warner Creative, commissioned by Dreamland Margate. The project brought together local community groups and creative organisations that Dreamland support to create a seagull-themed art trail for the park’s 2022 summer season. We made eleven plywood birds which were then decorated by those involved and installed across the park, highlighting the organisations and providing a fun free summer activity for families. Visitors were greeted with a layered seagull spinning wheel and signage that explains the project, encouraging visitors to ‘Spin the Wheel’ to find out which seagull to search for. A trail map and ‘Decorate Your Own Seagull’ template were also available to download from the Dreamland website.
